Jahmeer Oscar Cade is currently a freshman at Southern University and A&M College, located in Baton Rouge, LA, where he is studying Mechanical Engineering. I’ve is a member of the National Society of Black Engineers at Southern and is a “Top Jag.” Prior to attending Southern University, he attended St. Augustine High School, which is located in New Orleans, LA.
During his time at St. Augustine High School, Jahmeer finished third in his class with an overall GPA of 4.3. He was a member of the 2021 championship basketball team, president of the National Honor Society, a member of the Future Business Leaders of America, the Robotics Team, and a student ambassador.
Growing up, he always had a knack for math and science, and although He enjoyed reading and always had a book in his hand, science was the thing that always piqued his interest. Because of that love for science, his mother (who is actually a science teacher), always made sure he was enrolled in some type of extracurricular activity that centered around math and science. She knew the importance of STEM, so she made sure he attended a camp every summer. Being in those camps really propelled his love for science even more, and helped him determine that when he grew up, he would be an engineer. He still has that dream today: two of his goals are to one day work for NASA in their space program and to become an engineering consultant.
