New Tax Filing and Payment Website for Philadelphia Businesses

In November we are unveiling a website that is indeed new and powerful. The Philadelphia Tax Center is not just the City’s new tax filing and payment website. It also allows business owners to:

  • Communicate easily and safely with our department.
  • Apply for business tax credits and payment agreements.
  • Open and close accounts.

The new website represents a big change for Philadelphia businesses, and we need your help sharing three key messages about it now:

  1. Taxpayers should know if their mailing address in our system is correct. This ensures they can use the new website when it’s time. To update a mailing address, call (215) 686-6600.
  2. Anyone can get more information about what’s changing at www.phila.gov/guides/Philadelphia-Tax-Center. We’ve published flyers and step-by-step instructions, including in Spanish.
  3. Property taxes will be added the Philadelphia Tax Center later. Property owners should pay their upcoming 2022 Real Estate Tax bills in their usual way, not the Tax Center.

SBA Waives Guarantee Fee through 2022

Great news for your clients! The Small Business Administration (SBA) just announced there will be NO guarantee fee due to the SBA for loans of $350,000 or less through 2022. This was presented in the SBA’s new fee structure on SBA 7(a) loans just released.

As we mentioned last week, the SmartBiz Team is back to business after PPP and we want to remind you that we can offer funding options to help all kinds of small business owners. For qualified applicants, an SBA loan from a bank in our network offers low rates, long terms, and very low monthly payments.

A Bank Term loan from lenders in the SmartBiz network is another option for your clients. Bank Term loans are short-term, fixed-rate loans with stable monthly payments. Bank Term loans facilitated by our team often have a shorter application process and faster turnaround than SBA loans.
