(NEW YORK – September 7, 2021) – Tune-in tonite for the next edition of The Doni Glover Show from 6 to 7 pm EST on Facebook.com/BlackUSANews. Guests include Tasemere Gathers and Emma Peralta. They are the founders of the Brunch Pitch Competition.
The highly-anticipated Brunch Pitch Competition came to Harlem on Saturday, August 28, 2021. The second contest was held at the Harlem Business Alliance, 275 Malcolm X Blvd.
The Brunch Pitch Competition was created by The DM Firm, Tasemere Gathers and United Black Businesses, Emma Peralta to focus on Black entrepreneurship. They teamed-up to launch a creative way for Black Owned Businesses to help develop and grow their brands. During the event, the exhibition of Black excellence was illuminated with various products and food vendors showcased their goods. There was music and entertainment, as well.
The first Brunch Pitch was held in Brooklyn on Sunday, June 13 at the Royal Event Space. Brunch Pitch Competition – Brooklyn Edition provided Black entrepreneurs an opportunity to pitch their business to a panel of judges. During this process, the judges asked questions relative to their business to inquire as to the market they are in as well as the goals set for the business.
The purpose behind the competition is to allow the “everyday” entrepreneur an opportunity to enter a pitch competition, pitch the business and win. Those familiar with
pitch competitions know that the barrier to entry is usually challenging for businessperson who either identify as a solopreneur or are looking to move their business from side hustle to a formal residual income venture.
The Brunch Pitch Competition lowers the barrier of entry and provides sponsored coaching to all contestants to ensure they are prepared. The winner of the contest wins a suite of business services valued at more than $10K. Services include business coaching, interviews from hosts-based New York and Canada, consultations, audits, and much more.
Past judges include Dr. Bobbi, a celebrity orthodontist; Dizzy Brown, a radio host; Hanif Russell, founder of Caribbean Business Connections; Jamila McGill, co-founder of Brooklyn Tea; and Patreinnah Acosta-Pelle, a veteran public relations specialist of PR City.
